"Without a doubt, the City of Fairfield, including its planning commission and city officials, is the most professional, strategic and forward-thinking government entity I have ever had the pleasure of working with for a project of this magnitude.”
-Mike Rummelhoff, Vice President of Operations and Project Director, Meyer Corporation, U.S.

Situation
Meyer Corporation, U.S. is the largest cookware company in the United States and offers brands including Anolon®, Circulon®, Farberware®, KitchenAid® Cookware, SilverStone®, Rachael Ray®, Paula Deen® and BonJour®.  Meyer Corporation, U.S.’s affiliated factories around the world manufacture over 100 cookware lines which are distributed in more than 30 countries, employ more than 5,000 people and produce more than 30 million pans a year. Meyer Corporation, U.S. is headquartered in Vallejo, CA, a neighboring city to Fairfield.

Meyer’s Fairfield campus is owned by its subsidiary Meyer Cookware Industries, Inc.  On that campus Meyer employs over 200 people, and more than 100 temporary employees during the busy holiday season.  The company occupies three sites in Fairfield, one on Meyer Way and two on Cordelia Road, totaling over 600,000 square feet of office, distribution and storage space. The Meyer Way facility recently became energy efficient with the installation of a new 580kW Solar System that provides sufficient power to meet most of the building’s demand for electricity.

Why Fairfield?
Meyer Corporation, U.S. chose Fairfield for its strategic location near Highway 12 and Interstate 80, and its proximity to various modes of transportation.  As the company grows and makes plans for expansion, Meyer Corporation, U.S. executives have expressed their gratitude for the hands-on approach and support of local government officials.

What’s Next?
Because of company growth, Meyer is expanding the Fairfield Meyer Way facility. A 164,000 square foot addition to the existing warehouse will be constructed consisting of a 100 foot high Automated Storage and Retrieval System. While the company’s headquarters will remain in Vallejo, CA, some employees will move to Fairfield. Future expansion plans also call for a 20-acre campus with a seven-story building and a five-story parking garage with 700 stalls.
