were drawn to Fairfield for our high-quality, abundant water, state
of the art sewer treatment facilities and our affordable land costs. Fairfield's
strategic Bay Area location on major transportation routes and our pro-business
local government were a major factor for many companies deciding to locate here.
Fairfield actively supports manufacturers by addressing their workforce
and operating needs. Fairfield launched a manufacturing workforce
initiative that, with a grant from Governor Schwartzenneger, the county
Workforce Investment Board has taken county-wide. Fairfield also
invited non-profit consultant, the Corporation for Manufacturing
Excellence, to work with local manufacturers on LEAN manufacturing
techniques.
