CITY OF FAIRFIELD, CA OPENS BIDDING FOR SURPLUS CITY-OWNED REAL PROPERTY

Fairfield, Calif., October 22, 2007 — Fairfield, CA’s Office of Community Development Department announces an invitation to bid for the separate purchase of two sites of surplus city-owned real property. The sites offer commercial and residential development opportunities and are located at Dickson Hill Road and Dover Avenue, and Tabor and Fairfield Avenues. Both are in close proximity to residential neighborhoods and retail.
The site at the northeast corner of Dickson Hill Road and Dover Avenue is a vacant 21,736-square foot (0.49 acres) prime commercial development property zoned for office and commercial use. It offers an excellent location for in-fill development.
The 39,639-square foot (0.91 acres) site located at the southeast corner of Fairfield and Tabor Avenues is zoned for low to medium density residential development with 6,000-square foot minimum lots. This prime residential development property is an excellent in-fill development.
The City will allow the successful bidders necessary time to obtain entitlements to develop the properties. No minimum bid price has been established for either of the properties; however, recent appraisal information is available at City Hall for review.
