Regional Center Project Area
Edwards Cinemas
  • Adopted on November 23, 1976

  • 550 acres

  • Located northwest of downtown Fairfield.

Regional Center was the first redevelopment project area adopted by the Redevelopment Agency.  Westfield Solano Mall, NorthBay Medical Center, the Geri-Town Shopping Center, and surrounding residential areas are included within the project boundaries.

The project area was expanded in July 2005 to include approximately 19 acres in the PACE neighborhood of Fairfield.  The neighborhood is so named because it is bounded by Pennsylvania Avenue, Alaska Avenue, Cunningham Drive and Eton Court.

Redevelopment Agency accomplishments include the development of the Solano Mall (now Westfield Solano), Gateway Courtyard Shopping Center and Gateway Plaza Shopping Center, Hilton Garden Inn and various restaurants.

Various redevelopment programs to foster economic revitalization in this project area are available.  The Redevelopment Agency also provides assistance with development site selection and evaluation, and economic development facilitation for business attraction and expansion.
