In July 2005, the City Council adopted the City’s Economic Development Strategy with the goals to grow Fairfield’s existing businesses and recruit businesses that create quality jobs. “Every city is involved in economic development,” stated Mayor Harry Price, “But we’re getting very, very aggressive here.” The City’s Economic Development program includes visiting 250 Fairfield businesses every year, major company one-on-one visits with the Mayor and City Manager, business issue forums and educational/workforce initiatives. “We’re serious,” said Mayor Price.
