According to the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) Projections 2005, Solano County is currently the fastest growing county in the Bay Area and is expected to experience the largest percentage increases in job growth over the next twenty years.

Fairfield jobs will be concentrated in manufacturing, service, retail, and government. Retail employment is expected to increase 43% between 2003 and 2030. Manufacturing and wholesale trade employment is forecasted to increase by 51% between 2005 and 2030. Service employment is expected to increase about 49% over the same period. Fairfield is expected to have the greatest numerical job increases of any Solano County city with about 23,840 new jobs being added between 2005 and 2030.
